Huge projects…what’s behind them?

The dreamer stands at the threshold of time, shaping a different future. Just 40 kilometers from the Saudi capital, Riyadh, along the Tuwaiq mountain range, emerges a futuristic landscape that blends dreams, pleasure, and work. And with work, dreams become reality—unlike hopes built on illusions. Creating a homeland that keeps pace with a new era of culture, entertainment, and creativity is no easy task, yet it is far from impossible.

In a documentary about one of NEOM’s most inspiring projects, The Line, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman stated, “We think about the kind of opportunity we have. We have the money, we have the land, we have stability, and we have good infrastructure.” Indeed, human nature gravitates toward what it possesses, for within every individual lies an entire cosmic system, designed for life and evolution on this earthly experience. With this mindset—one that recognizes its potential and harnesses it—nations carve their names into history. This is how new civilizations are built. The sun rises each day on those bold enough to shape the future.

This was exactly what I witnessed firsthand during a brief visit to one of Vision 2030’s mega projects, one of the five Giga Projects—the Qiddiya City project, the Middle East’s most promising entertainment hub. However, this project goes beyond entertainment; it redefines concepts of culture and sports, the economic pillars that play a significant role in enhancing national identity.

Standing before the Tuwaiq mountain range, one of the most famous in the central region, you see vast amusement parks sprawling across the landscape. Atop one of its peaks sits a multi-purpose stadium, while a cultural arts center rises beside it. The scene extends to residential and commercial resorts, as well as public facilities. It becomes evident that this project is built upon the existing resources and natural energy of the land. Instead of towering skyscrapers, the mountains themselves dominate the skyline. Just as New York is known for its soaring skyscrapers, Riyadh’s identity is defined by the enduring strength of the Tuwaiq Mountains.

“What we are experiencing today is unforgettable history and a race against time. Soon, we will reap the achievements that the world cannot overlook,” said Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The ongoing projects reflect the sheer scale of what will one day become historical landmarks.

But behind all of this are the dedicated young Saudis who are working with passion and commitment to elevate their homeland. They alone understand its true value, and they alone will enjoy its prosperity. The current transformations prompt an important question: These massive projects—what’s behind them?

The answer is simple: those who dream and take action will achieve and enjoy the results. This equation is playing out in real-time, translating into progress across all sectors, rooted in a history that speaks for itself. Saudi Arabia’s accelerated steps toward the future cement its global standing. As Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman put it, “We have the ability to realize our dreams and the dreams of future generations, and we will work tirelessly to be among the leading nations in the world.”

In summary, these mega projects embody an ambitious vision and an unparalleled level of execution and innovation. They reflect a firm belief in the potential and determination of a nation, a spirit likened to the towering Tuwaiq Mountains, which stand firm despite change, unwavering in their values and principles. Unlike any other, Saudi Arabia forges its own path—a forward-looking nation shaping its future to build a vibrant society, an ambitious homeland, and a thriving economy
